How are students to signal they want your attention?
Simply raise your hand if you are asking a question or if you need help. If you need to go to the nurse or use the restroom, simply stand at your desk and I will give you the thumbs up or the thumbs down.
How do you call on students during class discussion?
Particpation is a must. Therefor I will give all students the opportunity to participate. In order to be called upon or to ask a question, your hand must be raised. If participation becomes an issue, I will start to use popsicle sticks to call on students. It is simple: If you know the answer or have a question, speak up!
